i try hard not to think about how closely bluey mirrors our own world. it's a cartoon about talking dogs, after all. reddit pointed out the argentinian dog in one episode was a german breed and now all i can do is think of how basically bluey is just the dog version of kitty history by trevor moore.

granddad served in vietnam. rusty's dad is stationed in the middle east. 9/11 probably happened. there's probaby a dog version of my chemical romance. and twilight. and 50 shades of gray.

worse yet, there's a dog version of the gaza strip that's been leveled. puppies burried alive, blown up, set on fire, dying because the last hosptial was destroyed. there was a dog hitler and a dog holocaust. dog romani and travelers rounded up among the jewish dogs, queer dogs, political dissident dogs. dog project paperclip. dog space race. dog conspiracy theorists. dog holocaust deniers. dog maga. dog christian nationalists. dog for-profit prison system in the doggy state of america. holy fuck there is no escape. it's just us with dogs!
