caught up with an old coworker from a previous job at my current job. he's a cool old due, a little younger than my dad. poor guy told me about how he retired three years ago, bought a boat last year to go crabbing, and hasn't been able to do much with it because of the price of gas.
i had forgotten how loud and talkative this coworker was. he was sure to tell me how much he hated trump (valid,) how trump's bullshit derailed his plans, and how he's sorry for young people like me trying to raise a family in this hellhole of an economy. He said these things in front of multiple other coworkers, most of whom vocally support trump. and i agreed with him, albeit quietly, with a few nods and "yeah"s.
the glares. the scowls. the fire of hate for political dissidents in their eyes. these are the same men who talk openly in the break room about how people who don't support trump are guilty of treason and should be executed publicly.
i don't think a single one of them looked at me with my racoon eyeliner and dark lipstick and thought i was a conservative tradwife when i'm off the clock, but now they know, and it's clear from how they looked at me after my old coworker left that they don't like it.
